Creative Strategy/Brand Partnership
Approached Converse's ad agency about bringing Kid Cudi and the brand together as he is a major fan of the Chuck Taylor All Star. The strategic idea was to apply Cudi to the narrative of an ad campaign, which was meant to focus on emerging creatives, as someone who achieved success and espoused the same ethos as many of the young artists and musicians Converse was focusing on. Cudi recorded a song and music video, "All Summer", featuring Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij and Bethany Cosenito of Best Coast. The project's success online lead the brand to make major above the line ad buys, including the MTV Video Music Awards and season premiere of Gossip Girl.
